An Art Benefit

Zapata Spring
12x9
This is a painting that I donated to the ASC sponsored art show to benefit Randy Pijoan.  The painting is 12x9 and will be auctioned off in February - hopefully this painting will get a good price as I'm sure his medical costs were substantial.  So if you are in the Alamosa area, please stop and check out the show at the Hatfield gallery - it will be up on January 21.
Here is more information on the show......

As you may know, San Luis Valley artist, Randy Pijoan recently took a Flight-for-Life to Denver for emergency medical needs. Luckily he is back in the Valley and on the road to recovery. Like most studio artists, Randy does not have health insurance. Along with other fund raising efforts that include foundation requests, ASC Community Partnerships' and ASC Art Department are coordinating a local benefit. We're calling it "Artists for Pijoan" We asking artists to donate works of all different mediums and scale to benefit Randy Pijoan.  The artwork will be displayed in the ASC Art Dept.'s Hatfield Gallery from Friday, January 21st until Friday, Feb 4th, 2011. An event will be held Saturday February 5th, 2011 to sell and/or auction off the work to assist Randy Pijoan recover financially with his medical expenses.
Donated artwork needs to be dropped off at the ASC Art Dept. by Wednesday, January 19th, before 5p.m. Please contact Gene Schilling 719.588.8749 with any questions

Is this painting for charity? I can't visit the auction. I hope this painting will sold by the highest price.

Thank you Kagura- yes its a charity event for a friend (another artist) that had some heart problems and no health insurance. He has some major bills to pay so the show is for his benefit. Hopefully we will make a lot of sales so that we can help him out.
