An Almost Fall Painting
Another painting from the Alamosa River Canyon. This painting is a 16x20, a tad bit larger than I usually paint on location. I was confused as to which direction was which and when the sun wasn't moving in the direction that I thought it should, I checked my compass in my Cruiser and found that I was 45 degrees off. Oops. Everything started to make sense after that and I finished this pretty quickly- larger plein air paintings can go as quickly as the smalls- just be ready to slap on large amounts of paint with a big brush - Stapleton Kearns was right- sometimes it's hard to miniaturize the world when painting.

Well done and I rally like the colors in this one. Have I asked what colors you have on your palette?
I'm in process of re-evaluating the color on mine and am wondering what you use.
Hi Eldon- I sent you an e-mail on my colors- that way we can banter back and forth on the colors we like!
Fantastic painting! I especially like the way you handled the water and the reflections in the water, very striking contrast of colors.
Thank you Jeff. the water was tough- especially the reflections but I took my time and worked through it. Thank you for the nice comment

Thank you evat- I always appreciate your comments!
hi , again , i wonder if you have time , to have a look on my blog , i want to know , what do you think about my work . i will be so glad for that , thank you .
evat- I have checked out your blog and I even tried to comment- but I couldn't get it published so I gave up.. Here goes- I like your drawings- you have a good imagination to come up with some of your drawings without reference material. I think you do a great job. Maybe you could put the comment section in English as well so some of us can figure out how to comment. Sue
