Pilar Afternoon

This is a view of the small church at Pilar from the water tower.  We started painting this view in the afternoon during the PAAC paint out and then a huge storm came up and blew us out of there- (Coni, David, and I).  So I just finished this using a photograph - I honestly wish that I could have finished this on the spot-- it's just a little too tight and studied. Maybe I had too much time to work on it? Maybe...

Tight and studied? Nah, nice piece. Unusual angle. I like it!

I like your point of view, too. I think that can be difficult but you did a good job. Love the little church! And I do remember that storm...we got hailed on!

Hi Jeanne! Thank you- it can be pretty wicked up on the side of that mountain- can't it? We probably should have tried to paint it early in the morning.

I always love your work. The Church is well done. The shadows in the tree is most interesting, particularly the dark star within the shade. God bless you for your work.
